Additional Unit Information:
Farr 3 is an acute cardiology unit with 6 step down beds and 4 beds for patients wtih atrial fibrillation. Many of our patients come to us through the interventional cardiology suite. In addition, we manage acute decompensated heart failure and complex cardiac arrhythmias.
Other Team Members:
Nurse management has 24 hour responsibility for the unit. Other supportive staff available for unit as needed include: Interpreter Services, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurses. There are 16.25 FTEs of centralized Med-Surg float nurses and 6.4 FTEs of centralized Nursing Assistants which are deployed as needed to support patient acuity. There are 21.4 FTEs of centrally based patient care staff who are available to observe and protect patients at elevated safety risk (i.e. at risk for pulling out lines/tubes or at risk for harming themselves or others).
